super-easy. i didn't even need the manual (and i'm real bad with most interfaces). the machine just tells you which options you have and then you fill 'em in. superb interface. even if you don't know what a given effect can/should do, you can figure it out in under 2 minutes.

they all sound good (i wish i could say something bad here, but can't find anything) ok, ok, reverbs aren't all 'completely realistic', but for the price, they certainly haven't been beaten so far. flangers, phasers, delays, doppler effect (= very rare effect), great rotary speaker, ok distortion and overdrive, ok compression (though not great and a bit strange qua set up). for the price, damn near unbelievable overall.

the dial is sturdy and the display clear.

will suit anybody simply because of unmatched (in any price-category!) range of effects, editability and sheer quality. one last thing to note: it's actually two completely seperate stereo-fx-processors into one! nuff said.

This unit is very easy to use. The manual is well-written. It only took me one evening with the manual and unit to learn how to operate it -- including creating my own patches. I have not been able to make it's "VOCODER" patch work, but I haven't really worked enough with this patch to determine if the problem is with the implementation or with the "user".

This unit exceeded my expectations. It sounded fantastic right out of the box the first time I turned it on. I am using it with a Mackie CR1604 mixer and computer-based (Falcon 80) digital recording.

It always works -- no problems.

I play mainly avante-garde and experimental electronic music. I'm currently working on some "ambient" electronic music and the DPS-V55 is perfect for producing thick, clean reverbs, chorus, and "spacial stereo" effects. It is very easy to create new patches. The rotating speaker effect is very good and when you switch from fast to slow it has a realistic transition. It is a great value for the money and makes professional sound processing affordable.

Very easy to use and set up. This unit has nice algorithms, in particular for live use. Easy to set up and tweak during performance. In the studio, the effects hold up VERY nicely. The reverbs are very smooth with tails that do NOT exhibit any graininess. The chorus & echo are really nice. The pitch shifting works really well (and has some really nice drastic effects for those interested). Most of what I do is to fatten up a vocal or guitar with about 6 to 8 cents of shift. Very nice for that. This is NOT a "harmony" box. Forget that one. Tap tempo is very easily utilized and set up. Basically a four effects in four independant channels box. The unit can be set up for 4 channel thru single channel effects. It is NOT ultimately flexible in this regard but is quite useable and well thought out in the implementation. The manual is nicely laid out and sufficient.

Very low noise and VERY clean. Wonderfully thick reverbs and choruses. The effects are all very nice. I cannot think of anything negative about this unit for what I use it mostly for. (Live PA work) and some studio work. This box is not a be all and end all, but what it does, it does really well.

So far it is great. My past experience with Sony professional electronics has always been good. I have only had these now for about 3 months, but I have had and anticipate no problems.

I have another Sony unit (10 years old) that I needed a part for (I do my own repairs) and I had no problems ordering the part that I needed. Even in getting one of their tech guys to track down a part number when necessary has not been difficult. Not once did I ever get a nasty or short tempered person on the phone. Overall my experience has been good here although I have not had to try this with the DPSV55 unit yet.

I am basically an "FOH" sound guy. I have a large effects rack and this product fits right in very nicely. I now have two of them. Price and quality of effects make this a really good choice.
