The Sony VO-9850 is a U-Matic SP model video recorder that is considered one of the most technically advanced broadcast models in Sony's range. It is a high-end, professional, 3/4 inch, Industrial/Professional Type IX U-Matic VCR that plays all types of U-matic PAL recorded video cassettes in Low-band (LB), High-band (HB), and SP in high quality. It has NTSC TV standard, composite and XLR outputs, and FM recording luminance. The VO-9850 has a rotary 2-head helical scan, converted subcarrier direct recording color signal, and EIA standards NTSC color.
