This 517e features the Grand Pacific shape with wild honey burst finish, stellar Builder's Edition appointments, and melodic Taylor ES2 electronics. The Grand Pacific is one of Taylor's boldest shapes: a flat-top, round-shoulder dreadnought which affords nicely balanced low-end power across all registers. This 517e has a back and sides of neo-tropical mahogany for a dry, woody character, coupled with the dynamics of a torrefied Sitka spruce top. The tonewoods afford a balanced midrange with some extra warmth and articulation. For a delicately beautiful aesthetic, this Builder's Edition 517e is finished in a silent satin, wild honey burst. The body is supported with Taylor's innovative V-Class bracing, which provides more volume and sustain simultaneously. The Builder's Edition 517e also has chamfered body edges for the most comfortable playing experience imaginable.

Stellar Builder's Edition Appointments
Decorated with appointments that add to its aesthetic quality and playability, the Taylor Builder's Edition spares no detail. The tropical mahogany neck has a compound-carve profile which adjusts for the change in your hand position as you move along it. The 517e also sports a West African ebony fingerboard with contoured edges. The fingerboard is decorated with grained ivoroid arrowhead inlays, arranged between 20 frets. The headstock bears the same inlay, with the Taylor name above it, and is lined with 3 Taylor nickel tuners on each side. All of this coalesces to create an instrument of outstanding character.

Melodic Taylor ES2 Electronics
The 517e WHB features an amplification innovation from Taylor - the Expression System 2. ES2 electronics were designed to capture all the striking acoustic sound from this guitar. Placed behind the saddle, the ES2 pickup has three well-positioned sensors to capture a dynamic range of sound like you'd never imagine. The onboard ES2 preamp allows you to modify your sound with volume, treble, and bass controls.
